Kiddiegram Travels- Wizarding World of Harry Potter- Universal Studios
As self proclaimed Potter-heads our last trip to the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter was nothing short of one of the most exciting days of 2018!! With our very own little budding potter fans in tow, we headed to Universal Studios in Hollywood, Los Angeles to witness what we’d heard was one of the best (and newest) ones in the US. We were actually disappointed to know that unlike the one in Orlando this one does not feature the Dragon Challenge coaster from Islands of Adventure, but does include Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Flight of the Hippogriff, along with Ollivander’s Wand Shop Show, and the Frog Choir and Triwizard Spirit Rally. The flight of the hippogriff is a semi fast little coaster perfect for 4-5 years olds and was an instant hit with our children so much so that we rode it twice.
We must also mention you haveto sample a glass of Butterbeer (a non alcoholic drink contrary to what the name suggests) while you’re there.
Next we moved on to the “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” ride but not everyone fit the height requirement. The little ones could tour the entire Hogwarts castle in the mean time which is a delight in itself from Dumbledore’s office to even the Herbology classroom/conservatory.
However for our children the squeals of excitement were the loudest at Ollivander’s Wand Shop. For a whopping $58 each you can purchase wands that can be used to do “magic”, using sensors!! While performing different “spells” from the Harry Potter universe, fans can produce different reactions, such as unlocking a cabinet, opening a box of candy (Chocolate Frogs), and forcing a ruler to lower itself!
